Who We Are

Ardha Jabesa Foundation works with the pastoral and agro-pastoral communities of Isiolo County in Northern Kenya, In particular we work with communities whose operations and targeting by other actors is minimal i.e. mobile pastoralists, rural and peri-urban communities with minimal contacts with other agencies. Ardha Jabesa Foundations’ approach to Community development is motivated by the relationship between the communities living across the counties of Isiolo, Samburu, Garissa and Wajir counties borders and their interdependence especially during extreme weather times. The cross counties -border approach is intended to build synergy and enhance communities’ engagement and resilience to recurrent disaster threats and risks resulting from climate variability.

We look to bridging the gap between the local community and the outside world through community-driven development initiatives for long-term sustainable benefits. The Foundation is concerned with amongst others; the need to facilitate and champion the target community by empowering them through integrated programs built on positive cultural and modern practices to utilize available local resources and enhanced sustainable livelihoods and development.
